Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water / EOI - NSW Vehicle Emissions Offsets Scheme - SR2885165871

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the supply of carbon credits to offset the emissions of NSW light vehicles through a NSW Government vehicle offsetting initiative.

The key objective of this EOI is to understand the carbon credit supply market and options available to the NSW Government and shortlist offset suppliers based on their capacity to supply suitable offsets, and their capability to meet the demand created by NSW drivers voluntarily opting to offset their annual vehicle emissions.

One of the initiatives of the Net Zero Plan - Stage One: 2020-2030 is an emissions offset program for vehicles in NSW. This will initially be offered as part of the annual light vehicle registration process managed by Service NSW. The intention is to extend to other transaction points including vehicle sale and transfer of registration. It will complement other schemes being developed under the Net Zero Plan including awareness-raising communications and information on vehicle performance and emissions.

Expression of Interest for Specific Contracts - An invitation for Expression of Interest (EOI) for pre-registration of prospective tenderers for a specific work or service. Applicants are initially evaluated against published selection criteria, and those who best meet the required criteria are invited to Tender (as tender type Pre-Qualified/Invited).

The Department will only be considering providers that can offer the following:

• Must have an Australian Financial Services Licence 

• Australian Carbon Credit Units

• Offsets from NSW based projects (priority), then Australian based projects (secondary priority).
