P22-4185 - Captains Flat - WHS Occupational Hygienist On-Site Services
Occupational Hygienist develop an Occupational Health Management plan and Training staff for the red zone decontamination.
Scope
The tenderer is to provide a full occupational hygiene service that will allow SCS to focus solely on construction responsibilities. It is the intent of this engagement that all measures relating to design, implementation, monitoring & reporting within the occupational hygiene element of the works will be the sole responsibility of the successful tenderer.
Site Location
The Lake George Mine is located on the Western edge of the town of Captains Flat, approximately 52 km Southeast of Queanbeyan NSW. A site location diagram is provided as an attachment to the tender documentation.
All services must be provided at the site location being Corner Miner Rd. & Old Mines Rd. Captains Flat N.S.W. (GPS: -35.592425, 149.442101)
Delivery & Access
The site compound will be located in the North Western corner of the Northern dumps area. Access to the compound will be via the Northern dumps access gate opposite the intersection of Miners Rd. & Old Mines Rd. Gravel construction access only beyond this gate, suitable for light vehicles & rigid body trucks only.
Site access is via Old Mines Rd. & Captains Flat Rd. from Queanbeyan only. Call traffic control on UHF 17 on approach.
For the purposes of quoting the following is assumed:
Total project workers to be serviced: 20 – 40 project workers
Project duration: 18 months (72 weeks, 360 working days)
The number of workers & the duration of the engagement may increase & consideration needs to be given to service any such increases. Subject to approval, machine operators are to be managed via a dry decontamination process whilst ground crew are to be managed via a wet decontamination process.
The successful tenderer will be required to deliver the following items which are detailed below in the Requirements:
1.Preparation & delivery of the Occupational Hygiene induction package.
2.Provision of the relevant portions of & engagement in site inductions & ‘Take 5’s’ (toolbox talks) where required.
3.Provision of & collection & analysis of data from personal exposure & field air monitoring services to detect the presence of: asbestos, copper, lead, zinc, cadmium, arsenic & Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) particulates.
4.Health surveillance of SCS site staff, contractors & accredited visitors including: demographic, medical & occupational history; biological monitoring (where required); maintenance of site personnel exposure records.
5.Provision of mask fit training & testing.
6.Plant & equipment checking & clearance.
7.Occupational Hygienist field work relating to the above items.
The successful tenderer is to provide site staff to undertake various tasks relating to personnel health testing & monitoring, participation in site OH&S tasks (including training), the deployment of monitoring equipment, collection & collation of monitoring & testing data & on-site health monitoring & testing.
The successful tenderer is to be qualified and experienced in hygiene monitoring on contaminated sites.
