Tender Details
The NSW EPA currently runs the Household Problem Waste Program that aims to prevent toxicity in our environment and provides a safe, free and convenient drop off service for household problem wastes that can’t be disposed of in kerbside bins or down the drain. The two elements of this service are:
• Community Recycling Centres (CRC) – collection from 97+ fixed location local council run facilities across NSW. The CRC program targets high volume low toxicity household wastes, such as paint, gas bottles and batteries
• Household and Chemical Cleanout (HCC) events – collection from 100+ temporary events in predominantly metropolitan NSW areas. It targets low volume, high toxicity household wastes.
The purpose of this tender will be for the NSW EPA to appoint provider/s to:
• Collect household problem wastes from CRCs and process, treat, recover, recycle and dispose of these wastes
• Stage HCC events across the state and process, treat, recover, recycle and dispose of household problem wastes from these events.
