Tender Details
This document invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for commercialisation rights to Vine Nutrition App (VNA) for the purposes of enabling wide availability and commercial adoption for the benefit of primary producers and society. There are estimated to be 2361 wineries across 65 wine-growing regions in Australia, contributing over $45 billion annually to the Australian economy.
The VNA provides in-field diagnostics to determine nutritional status in real-time. The VNA addresses the current time-consuming method to determine nutritional status which limits its extensive use in the sector, due to price and turn-around time of laboratory analysis.
VNA is an AI powered smartphone App which will give a grower immediate information on their vines nutrition outlining the cause of the problem and as a critical second step provide links to resources on how to address the problem. The system uses a detailed algorithm for image processing. Real-time monitoring of fields enables growers to undertake requisite steps necessary for reducing waste or crop failure.
Regional New South Wales with oversight by the Department of Primary Industries (the department) is conducting this EOI on behalf of National Wine and Grape Industry Centre and related research participants.
