Tender Details
Canterbury-Bankstown Council (Council), in partnership with the Department of Planning and Environment, is seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Consultants in the field of flood modelling to review and update the existing flood studies for the Cooks River Catchment within the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area (LGA).
The objective of this project is to develop a fit-for-purpose flood model suitable for use in the management of flooding throughout the catchment. The project also aims to incorporate the best available information to reflect the current catchment conditions, and to adopt techniques and modelling approaches in accordance with the current guidelines and standards.
In 2018, Council commissioned the Upper Cooks River Flood Studies – Review, Verification and Alignment (BMT, 2018) to investigate the existing flood studies completed by the former Canterbury and Bankstown Councils within the Cooks River catchment. The study identified issues and inconsistencies between the existing flood studies and developed recommendations to promote coherent approach in flood modelling across the catchment.
