The winter operational jacket is required to be functional in all areas of New South Wales covering the alpine (Snowy) areas, the Great Dividing Range, the far west and the coastal strip from Victoria to Queensland borders.
The proposed contract will be for an initial two (2) year term. NSW Police may at its discretion extend the contract for three (3) further terms, each of twelve (12) months duration.
NSW Police will require the delivery of an estimated 6,000 jackets covering all sizes by 31 May 2007. It is estimated that 1,000 to 2,000 jackets will be required in years 2 and 3 of the Contract and up to 4,000 jackets will be required over the remaining term of the contract.
Tenderers are required to submit with their tender a swatch of the fabric being offered, as well as a similar styled sample jacket (not necessarily of the fabric being offered) to provide physical evidence of the quality and workmanship of the garments they are able to produce.
Tenderers will be able to view, by appointment, sample Winter Jackets currently held by NSW Police at Uniform Services, Unit 1, Block N, Commercial Drive, Regents Park.
