Tender Details

Karamea Homestead is located some 320 kilometres north from Sydney and 60 kilometres north-west of Gloucester within the Curracabundi National Park on the upper reaches of the Barnard River

The National Parks & Wildlife Service of the NSW Department of Environment and Climate requires works to be undertaken on the homestead

These works include extensive essential maintenance, restoration work, refurbishment of the existing kitchen, bathroom and laundry and the installation of an additional bathroom and toilet.

Repair works include the extensive replacement of termite damaged timbers (both internal and external), the repair and replacement of deteriorated roof and guttering elements, the installation of hanging beams in the ceiling, the retaping of a ceiling and installation of cornices.

Restoration work includes the replacement of acrylic cladding with timber weatherboards on an external wall, the replacement of three aluminium windows with the original timber-framed style, the replacement of existing timber entrance steps with the original brick rendered style and the reconstruction of a timber verandah.

Refurbishment is to be undertaken in all service rooms including the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms. Work includes refurbishment of the existing kitchen, the installation of a new stud wall to separate the existing kitchen and laundry, refurbishment of the laundry, the installation to a stud wall in the large laundry space to create a new WC, the refurbishment of the existing bathroom and the construction of a second bathroom in an existing room.

Painting to be undertaken includes all internal and external cladding and roofing elements. Additional work includes the be-building of a bush-pole pergola and the re-installation of a tank stand and rainwater tank.

Mandatory pre-tender site meeting:

This will be conducted on Tuesday 13th November, 2007 - commencing at 11am
at the Karamea Homestead, Curracabundi National Park, Giro Road, Gloucester.
No access to the site is provided during the tender period, other than the above meeting.
