EOI : Art Gallery of NSW Furniture Design & Construction for Domain Site internal Upgrades - EOI - AGNSW122020

The Art Gallery of New South Wales will be expanding with a new site (Sydney Modern Project) due for completion in 2022, in responses to this expansion, the current building will undergo a number of upgrades.

The Lower Level 3 Precinct Project is the creation of a new library space and upgraded Art Gallery Society members lounge. As part of the upgrade program being conducted on Lower Level 3 and Lower Level 2  the gallery will need to purchase 234 pieces of furniture. The scope includes sofas, tables, chairs and display units not including built in joinery.

The Gallery is seeking bespoke furniture designers who can construct the designed pieces. The designers will need to have proven capability to deliver the requirements and scope of this project. 

This Expression of Interest (EOI) is to seek suitable suppliers to partner with the gallery to design and construction the furniture for the project.

The EOI forms stage 1 of the process, with the outcome allowing the gallery to selected a short list of suppliers. These suppliers will then be invited to submit a request for tender that will form stage 2 of the process, to be issued in early 2021.

The overall goal of this EOI is to seek a suitable short list of suppliers who have the experience, capability and expertise to deliver the key criteria. We are not seeking any pricing or actual designs from the EOI stage.

This EOI forms stage 1 of the process and invites interested suppliers to submit a response, by the closing date. 

Successful suppliers will then be invited to participate in stage 2, the request for tender process in early 2021.

• A government agency may conduct negotiations with suppliers regarding the procurement
