Burrendong Dam Intake Tower Fixed Wheel Gate Hydraulic Control System Upgrade
The Fixed Wheel Gate (FWG) is lowered and raised by a hydraulic ram controlled from a hydraulic control cabinet situated in the top of the Intake Tower. The existing cabinet presents access restrictions for performing maintenance and repair work. It was put into service over 40 years ago and has not been overhauled or upgraded during that time.

Expression of Interest (EOI) for Construction of Lake Wetherell Fuse Plug Embankment and Levees at Menindee
There is an existing fuse plug (earth embankment) at Lake Wetherell, which was constructed in late 1950’s. The fuse plug has only operated on one occasion in 1974, which identified substantial problems with scouring, which raised serious concern. Following, an extensive investigation, it is proposed to relocate the fuse plug a further ~4km downstream. T he works involve earthworks, sheetpiling, removal of trees and associated works. Currently, the detailed design is in progress, and is expected to complete by September 2012. The intention of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to pre-register organisations that are interested in entering into the proposed contract and have suitable capacity, capability and experience in similar works.
