Construction Industry Briefing Notification
11:00am to 12:30pm AEST Tuesday 12 May 2020
In October 2019 the Commonwealth and NSW Governments committed to a jointly funded package of around $1 billion for the planning and fast-tracked delivery of three new or augmented dams in NSW.The projects included in this package were the raising of Wyangala Dam Wall, and construction of new dams on the Mole River and Dungowan Creek.Subsequent to this, in November 2019, the NSW Government identified these projects as Critical State Significant Infrastructure (CSSI) in the Water Supply (Critical Needs) Bill 2019.
Tasked with the delivery of these commitments, WaterNSW is driving the investigation, planning, design and delivery of the CSSI Dams – Regional Priority Dams Projects. With commencement of construction contractor procurement scheduled to be initiated in the coming months, WaterNSW will hold an Industry Briefing at 11:00am – 12:30pm AEST on Tuesday 12 May 2020 covering the opportunities in relation to construction contractor engagement for these projects.
The achievement of the announced commitments will require a strong emphasis on the timely delivery of these critical infrastructure projects working closely with stakeholders and the community to maximise local opportunities and benefits.
Organisations with capabilities in major infrastructure construction interested in participating in this significant opportunity to play a part in the development and delivery of water assets throughout NSW are encouraged to register and attend.
