WaterNSW / WaterNSW Cyber Security Incident Response Capability - 05072G31

WaterNSW was created from the merger of the Sydney Catchment Authority, State Water Corporation and DPI Water. WaterNSW now manages a network across a large number of sites spread geographically across NSW. This includes remote monitoring and metering sites that are connected to our network. The legacy organisations, over time, have implemented differing methodologies for the management of cyber security across the networks, with varying levels of maturity of cyber security management strategies and processes. The need to strengthen and make consistent cyber security incident management across WaterNSW was identified as a priority in the recent security audit conducted as part of the ISO27001 certification.

The expected benefit will be a significant improvement in the cyber security management capability within WaterNSW and a consequent reduction in cyber security risk. There will be a single, consistent cyber security management process across the organization and its systems that will be ISO27001 compliant.
