The 120t crane at Wyangala site is a critical piece of infrastructure during high risk flood events and periodic maintenance. In 2011 a 25 year major inspection was undertaken to review the crane against Australian Standards. The inspection focused on access, structural and mechanical aspects of the asset. The costs estimated to implement the recommendations from the report were included in the FY17–18 & FY20-21 rural funding determination.
A further assessment has been undertaken in 2016 to determine the scope of works and review the 2011 recommendations, for compliance with relevant Australian Standards.
