Sydney Trains & NSW Trains / Train Washing Plants - WS180178

Sydney Trains’ existing train washing plants were constructed in the 1970’s and are life expired.  They are to be removed and disposed of by the Contractor leaving basically only the building, some in-ground tanks, the track and the overhead wiring.  A new wash plant and control system must be supplied, installed and maintained at each site.  The wash plants will be renewed sequentially to minimise the disruption to the on-going washing of trains.

This RFT seeks offers to renew the Mortdale, Flemington and Sydenham train washing plants.  Sydney Trains may choose to update the Hornsby wash plant and so seeks offers to renew that wash plant, but this will be taken up only at Sydney Trains sole discretion.  The RFT also seeks offers to maintain the wash plants for a period of up to 5 years.
