New State-wide Agreements - Clinical and COVID-19 Support Services

To incorporate the next stage of the NSW Government’s Covid pandemic response NSW Health is developing Clinical Services Standing Offer Agreements or Preferred Provider Panel Agreements (‘New State-wide Agreements’) that will be agreed with Private Operators.   The intent of the Preferred Provider Panel Agreement is to create a stable partnership between a PHO and a Private Operator for the delivery of Elective Activity Services waitlist activity and the support for future Covid Services.   The Preferred Provider Panel Agreement provides the NSW Government the ability to, at any time, require the Preferred Provider to assist with Covid Services and Elective Activity Services. In exchange for the commitment to provide these Services, NSW Health, through the PHO, will commit to purchasing an agreed volume of Elective Activity Services activity from the Preferred Provider. The Clinical Services Standing Offer Agreement allows for the purchase of services from Private Operators (subject to their consent, with some qualifications) for the provision of clinical services to public patients by a Public Health Organisation.
