NSW Health / Pharmaceutical wholesaler to supply naloxone products to private and non-government services as part of the NSW Take Home Naloxone Program - HAC_2210643

 

The NSW Ministry of Health is seeking to engage a pharmaceutical wholesaler licensed to supply Schedule 3 medicines, to supply Prenoxad® and Nyxoid® to private services and non-government organisations (NGOs) authorised as part of the NSW Take Home Naloxone (THN) Program. The private services and NGOs are referred to as Authorised Alternative Suppliers (AASs) in this document.

 

The Australian Government has committed $19.6 million over 4 years from 2022-23, and $4.9 million per year ongoing to the National THN Program. The National Program is reimbursing the approved ex-manufacturer price (AEMP) of naloxone products for supply to community members in NSW, including by AASs.

 

 

The NSW Government will fund the difference between the AEMP and the agreed costs associated with supplying take home naloxone products to AASs. Such costs will be agreed by contract and may include freight fees, wholesaler margins and applicable taxes.
