Tender Details

The Family and Community Services (FACS) works with individuals, children, families and communities to empower them to live fulfilling lives and achieve their potential in inclusive communities. FACS is the agency in NSW with statutory responsibility for protecting children and young people from risk of significant harm and aims to ensure individuals, children and families who need targeted support are able to live safe from harm. Holistic assessment of problematic substance use includes discussions with clients (i.e. parent(s) or carers) about their use of alcohol or other drugs, together with observations, and family work with children and parents, to support keeping the children safe at home. Drug and alcohol testing is only used if there is concern about problematic substance use that is impacting on parental functioning or capacity and can also be used to support permanency planning and in restoration.

FACS is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified organisation that can provide reliable, high quality pathology services (urinalysis, blood and hair testing for drugs and alcohol)to assist FACS caseworkers in assessing parental risk and making care decisions.
