This is a Quality Assurance contract.
Tenders are invited from pre-qualified contractors at Roadworks Class R40 or higher, with the following subcontractor prequalifications:
Bridgeworks Class B10 or higher if a single subcontractor is engaged. If the Contractor chooses to engage a number of subcontractors to carry out the bridgeworks, a lower level of prequalification, appropriate to the size of the subcontract packages preferred by the Contractor, will be considered by the Principal.
Asphalt Class A5 or higher
Pretensioned Concrete Class CR or higher
Super T Bridge Girders Class CC or higher
Major Steel Fabrication Class SC or higher.
Tenders must comply with the NSW Government's Code of Practice for Procurement.
The work consists of the construction of a new four lane dual carriageway three kilometres long, between Bellambi Lane and the Princes Highway at Molloy Street, in the northern suburbs of Wollongong. The work includes earthworks, drainage, retaining walls, asphalt and bound pavement, noise walls, barrier systems, pavement marking, signposting, street lighting, fencing, revegetation and landscaping, and twelve bridges.
Tenders are to be lodged in the tender box at the RTA's Tender Box, Community Relations, Ground Floor, 260 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills.
A pre-tender meeting will be held at 9:30am, Thursday 7 September 2006 at Bulli Workers Club, 313 Princes Highway, Bulli. Following the meeting a site inspection will be held which will require walking the length of the project, approximately 3 km.
Attendance at both the meeting and site inspection is compulsory to submit a conforming tender.

Generally an invitation from a pre-qualified register of approved tenderers who have the ability to undertake the particular work or type of work proposed, a limited number of service providers are known to carry out the work or service (or in emergency or other restricted situations). Tenderers have usually been pre-qualified, accredited, or selected for the type of work and financial range. Competitive bids called from a standing offer (panel / period) contracts would also use this type.
