This is a State Funded Highway Project.
Tenders are invited from contractors prequalified at roadwork Class RX.
The work includes bridgeworks and the bridgeworks shall be carried out by a contractor pre-qualified at Class B10 or higher.
The asphalt paving works shall be carried out by a contractor pre-qualified at Class A5.
Pre-tensioned concrete Super T bridge girders shall be manufactured by a contractor pre-qualified at Class CC.
The earthworks and drainage components of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class E or D respectively or prequalified for roadwork. The erection of formwork for bridges must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class F or prequalified for bridgework. The primary testing of the work (including sampling) must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class L2.
The Works involve:
Roadworks: The construction of new four lane dual carriageways for the Princes Highway and Shellharbour Road including major earthworks, stormwater and subsurface drainage, precast reinforced concrete box culverts and headwalls, construction of several reinforced soil retaining walls, asphalt and heavily bound pavement courses, sprayed bituminous surfacing, noise barriers, kerbs, safety barrier systems, pavement marking, signposting, street lighting, fencing, revegetation and landscaping. Some local road construction is also required, with a grand total of almost 30 lane kilometres.
Bridgeworks: The construction of four bridges consisting of single span Super-T girder bridge over Tabbitta Road, twin single span post tensioned voided slab bridges over the through carriageway, and a single span Super-T girder bridge over the south coast railway line.
Tenderers must comply with the NSW Government's Code of Practice for Procurement.
A pre-tender meeting will be held at 10:00am, Monday 6 November 2006 at Shellharbour Workers Club, corner Shellharbour Road and Wattle Street, Shellharbour (entry off Wattle Street). Following the meeting a site inspection will be held which will require walking part of the length of the project, approximately 3 km.
Attendance at both the meeting and site inspection is compulsory to submit a conforming tender.
