Tender Details
The Sydney Trains division of Transport for NSW is inviting suitably experienced and capable organizations to participate in the Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to conduct of a Proof-of-Concept Trial to investigate use of an Autonomous Vehicle for Rail Tunnel Inspection (AVTI).
Subject to the outcomes of this EOI, Sydney Trains may enter the next stage to procure the services of a Supplier for supply of a suitable AVTI System and conduct of the Trial.
Sydney Trains’ Intelligent Maintenance Program (IMP) aims to transition rail maintenance practices away from current manual processes towards a contemporary, integrated, predictive maintenance methodology that will improve the performance of assets and optimise maintenance practices.
Under the IMP, Sydney Trains wishes to undertake a Proof of Concept (PoC) Trial for tunnel maintenance using an off-the-shelf autonomous vehicle to aid in inspection, visualisation, data collection, analytics, and reporting. The PoC will help Sydney Trains gain an understand of current and future technology capabilities mounted on an autonomous rail vehicle. It will inform and support predictive maintenance strategies and enable targeted, risk-based tunnel maintenance programs.
