Sydney Harbour Bridge Railway Deck Upgrade (SHBRDU) 

This Notice is to inform about the proposed Expression of Interest (EOI) for the upgrade of Sydney Harbour Bridge Railway Deck. 

The Invitation to the EOI will be advertised on the NSW Government e-Tendering website. Interested parties are advised to register on this website and regularly check the website for release of the EOI.  

 

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a national icon and is internationally recognized as a symbol of modern Australia and its industrial and social maturity. Its design and technical achievement is considered to be of local, state, national and international significance.  

The Sydney Harbour Bridge comprises of ten lanes, two for rail and eight for road traffic, including a cycle way and a pedestrian walkway. Sydney Trains operates approximately 500 services across the Bridge each weekday (equating to approximately 200,000 customers), including 40 services per hour during peak periods (20 trains in each direction).  

The Sydney Harbour Bridge railway corridor is currently open transom top with a railway deck for maintenance access. The Sydney Harbour Bridge Railway Deck Upgrade (SHBRDU) project will replace the existing timber transoms and railway deck with a contiguous concrete slab deck compliant with applicable standards. The project will be managed by Sydney Trains. 

Applicants interested to respond to the EOI are advised to regularly check the NSW Government eTendering website and are encouraged to register on NSW Government’s eTender portal for any future communications.
