Tender Details
Inviting proposals to establish contractual agreements with suitable suppliers for 2nd Generation Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD) Systems. Tender closing on 11/05/2020.
Sydney Trains is seeking proposals from suitable Tenderers to supply, install and commission four new Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD) systems at the existing sites based on Sydney Trains' reviewed business requirements.
The WILD is a hardened electronic data collection device that measures vertical wheel forces via rail-mounted strain gauges. The WILD measures impact forces caused by damaged wheels. High impact forces damage vehicles, cargo, and infrastructure.
The existing four WILD Systems at Minto, Kingswood, Penshurst and Rhodes have reached end of life. These are required to be replaced due to obsolescence issues and increasing cost of maintenance.
The purpose of this project is to replace the outdated 1st Gen WILD Systems in Sydney Trains network to a 2nd Gen WILD System to continue deriving system benefits and ensure that the WILD Systems are maintainable, available and reliable. The project will include the delivery of weighbridge capability provided as part of the standard WILD product offering provided by the supplier. This project is also expected to facilitate predictive maintenance of Sydney Trains rolling stock asset and protect track infrastructure.
The products and services to be provided by the Vendor are as follows:
• Engineering design services
• Supply of 2nd Gen WILD System hardware components
• Software services and configuration of 2nd Gen WILD System
• Test of 2nd Gen WILD System
• Installation of 2nd Gen WILD System
• Test and validation support of 2nd Gen WILD System.
