Strategic Asset Innovation Project – Signalling and Control Systems
The Principal is seeking responses to this EOI WS231508 (“ the EOI for Strategic Asset Innovation – Signalling and Control Systems ” ) from suppliers who have a demonstrative ability to supply signalling and control system products within the classes of Points Systems, Interlockings and Axle Counters. The purpose of this EOI is to facilitate the identification, evaluation and type approval of suitable signalling and control system products across a range of asset classes to support Sydney Trains’ future asset integrity, performance and network operational capacity needs . High level performance requirements are provided through this EOI and t enderers are encouraged to submit for evaluation multiple products within each asset category. An industry briefing for this EOI will be hosted by Sydney Trains, Transport for NSW and Asset Standards Authority will on Friday August 12 th , 8:30am – 11:30am in the Corinthian Room, Sydney Masonic Centre, 66 Goulburn Street, Sydney. Pre-Planned, SSTS & Emergency Rail Replacement Coach Services
The Provision of Emergency & Pre Planned Coach Service for NSW Trains refers to the temporary replacement of country and interstate trains due to breakdown or planned track work. It is intended to establish a panel of contracted suppliers and a supplementary panel of alternative suppliers accredited by NSW Transport to ensure the provision of services to each of the five designated coach operating areas. In addition to the Pre-Planned & Emergency work the panel is also utilised to provide NSW Transport end-of-term coach service for the transportation of school students to home locations. This end-of-term service requirement is organised by NSW Trains and paid for by TfNSW. The agreements established from this sourcing event will replace existing agreements.

XPT Wheel Turning

EOI for Electrical Isolations Improvement Project through replacement or retrofitting current three-position switches or identify any other solutions
The Principal is seeking responses to this EOI - WS249458 to find a solution to remote control the isolation and rail-connection of the OHW on the Sydney Trains 1500V DC network. Currently Direct Current Circuit Breakers (DCCBs) are remotely operated to de-energise the OHW and field switches connected in series are manually operated to rail-connect the OHW to make it safe for workers to work on or around the OHW. The current isolation and rail-connection process is time and labour intensive and usually results in a decreased window for productive work to take place on track. Sydney Trains are envisaging replacing existing DCCBs with metal-clad integrated units with ability to de-energise and rail-connect the OHW. Ideally Sydney Trains would like to type-test at least two examples of metal-clad switchgear. The existing switches shall be upgraded to have the ability to rail-connect the OHW remotely. This could be achieved by the following: Replace existing 1500V DC field switches with a new integrated unit, capable of isolating and rail-connecting the OHW remotely Retrofit existing three-position Isolation and Rail-Connection Switch (IRCS) with technology that shall allow the OHW to be isolated and rail-connected remotely The purpose of this EOI is to facilitate the identification of potential solutions, selection of the most appropriate Value for Money solutions as well as shortlisting and ranking of potential suppliers. Note: Type-approval of the potential solution(s) is not in the scope of this EOI.
