Mortdale Maintenance Centre is about 27 years old and supports the Southern Region suburban fleets

Mortdale Maintenance Centre is about 27 years old and supports the Southern Region suburban fleets. The brake inspection roads 11 & 12 between the maintenance shed and the service road are frequently used for inspection and brakes repair of the sub-urban fleets.

Brake inspection roads 11/12 are being upgraded to provide a safe work environment for the maintenance crew by providing non slip concrete pavement and sufficient flood lights with fold down columns.

The scope of the works under this Contract is generally as follows:

  1. Demolish existing bitumen and concrete pavement and dispose as per Environmental Planning Authority (EPA) waste tracking requirements and recommendations in the section E 10 - contamination investigation report of Part E and as per attached drawings S001 notes, S0101, S0102 & S0201 and E01.
  2. Fill with clean fill as to the extent required as per the specification.
  3. Supply and place synthetic fibre reinforced concrete pavements for pedestrian use as shown in the drawing S001 notes, S0101, S0102 & S0201 and E01 for electrical fold down light column footings.
  4. Decommission and remove existing thirteen timber light poles. Return the removed poles to the MMC depot as shown in the drawings S0101, S0102 & S0201 and E01.
  5. Receive delivery, store, inspect, and install new metal fold down light poles (columns) supplied by the Principal, as specified in this RFT and drawing E01. Installation will include construction of footings using synthetic fibre reinforced concrete, bolts and base plates etc. as per column manufacturer?s recommendation.
  6. Adjust the services crossings as indicated in the structural drawings. Terminate redundant services according to the relevant Australian Standards.
  7. Supply and install required lighting.
  8. Supply and lay asphalt to the areas shown in the drawings S0101, S0102 & S0201 and E01.
  9. Amend existing SW pits as shown in the drawings.
  10. Engage Protection Officers (P04) as required.
