The contractor is responsible for the development of a concept and prototype for a Hybrid Train Location System. This will include a clarification of the concept, an analysis of business needs and requirements, the establishment of concept architecture for the proposed solution, the management of technology reviews of location devices and the selection of candidate architectures including prototype units. The initial prototype units will utilise commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software and will be used to analyse environmental factors and provide data to finalise the Hybrid Train Location solution in preparation for a full fleet-wide pilot.
