Tender Details

TransGrid is about to start construction of a new 500 kV substation in the vicinity and as result of its construction it is necessary to construct two temporary 330 kV wood pole connections which deviates the existing 500 kV transmission Line around the proposed construction Site. The Works includes the necessary clearing, the construction of access tracks, the improvement of existing access tracks, the installation of working benches, erosion control and the restoration of the site on completion. The supply and delivery of new single circuit three and four pole 330 kV wood pole structures. The supply and installation of foundations, guys, structure earthing along with the supply, erection and tensioning of conductor and earthwire and the erection of associated hardware and insulators. The Work includes the supply and installation of the conductors and earthwire, and the associated transmission line hardware and insulators on the landing spans onto the existing heavy tension structures at each end. The work involves the dismantling of these short sections of temporary 330 kV wood pole transmission lines which becomes redundant following the completion of the construction of the new Bannaby Substation, which involves the dismantling of all redundant pole structures, foundations, guys, conductors, earthwires, hardware fittings and insulators, along with the restoration of the area around the redundant structure sites and the Site in general.

A compulsory site inspection of the Bannaby work will be held on Thursday 25th October 2007, commencing at 11.00 am. Further information on the Bannaby Site inspection can be obtained by telephoning, Mr Peter Logue, Project Manager Southern Region on (02) 6226 9708. Any parties interested in tendering shall attend the site inspection.
