TransGrid / Civil & Electrical Works - Tamworth Shunt Reactors - 1159

To enhance the reliability of the Principals transmission network and to maintain adequate voltage levels in electricity supply, two 330KV, 50MVar Shunt Reactors are currently being replaced at Tamworth 330kV Substation. A separate contract has been let for the supply and erection of two ABB 330kV, 50MVar Reactors currently scheduled for delivery on the 6th and 9th April 2008. To complete the substation augmentation work, the Principal will place a separate contract for the civil and electrical work associated with installation of the two new Shunt Reactors and the civil and electrical work associated with two new associated 330kV switchbays which connect the 330kV busbar to the new shunt reactors.

A mandatory site inspection will be conducted as detailed below to enable Tenderers to fully familiarise themselves with the site conditions. All parties interested in attending the site inspection shall notify their attendance by telephoning, Mr Peter Hamilton, Project Manager on (02) 8204 6373. All persons attending the site inspection must wear long sleeve shirts, trousers, safety helmets, enclosed footwear and high visibility shirts or vests. Persons not so attired will not be allowed to enter the switchyard.
