WSROC / Demolition Contract for the Animal Holding Facility (AHF) - C5/2022

Blacktown City Council (Council) is seeking tenders for the Demolition Contract for the Animal Holding Facility (AHF) located at 415 Flushcombe Rd, Blacktown. The works involve the demolition, removal and disposal of the all existing structures and paved areas on the site including the AHF building, site caretaker’s residence, various animal holding structures, septic tanks, on-grade carpark and access road.

The Council is currently constructing the Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) at Owen Street, Glendenning and upon its completion, all staff, animals, equipment and operations of the existing AHF will be relocated to the new BARC facility and the AHF demolition works will commence. The Council is seeking to clear all the buildings, structures and paved areas of the site to provide a clean site in order to assist in the subsequent sale of the land by Council.

The Council has undertaken the preparation of preliminary design documents for the works. The Contractor is to be responsible for completing the design to achieve the Council's requirements, preparing the demolition methodology, reviewing the design documents provided by the Council to ensure that the Works can be performed in accordance with the design documents, and developing the design documents.

 

The Contractor will be engaged pursuant to the AS 4902-2000 Design and Construct Contract provided to Tenderers at appendix C. Council does not expect to, but may, novate design consultants to the Contractor prior to Practical Completion of the works.
