The Jamieson Creek Catchment Floodplain Risk Management Study of November 2005 identified a need to control water flows from the Wentworth Falls Dam spillway. The study report recommended modification of the spillway to enable the dam to be used as a stormwater detention basin.
Scope
Undertake investigations to present options for a design to modify the dam spillway in accordance with the Jamieson Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Wentworth Falls Dam Break Study.
Complete detailed design and cost estimates for the preferred spillway modification option.
Extent of Work by Consultant
The Contractor is required to investigate design options to reduce the spillway capacity and thus increasing the detention capacity of the dam.
Design options are to include modification or replacement of existing pedestrian bridge to enable restricted access to the spillway gate mechanism. Contractor to present design options to Council with cost estimates. Council will select the preferred option.
Contractor to undertake detailed design and costing for preferred option.
