WSROC / Construction of a new event stage and associated amenity in Blacktown Showground - C7/2023

Blacktown City Council is  seeking an experienced contractor to construct a new event stage & associated amenity at Francis Park Green in the Blacktown Showground site.

In recent years the showground has undergone a major transformation & the adoption of a new masterplan has resulted in an increase in its use as a recreational and event space.

We engaged a lead designer, Studio Johnston (formerly Fox Johnston), to design a venue seen fit to fulfil the needs of council’s events team and whilst being respectful to the nature of the site.

You are required to deliver the project according to the design.  We may consult the lead designer for advice regarding the delivery of the project.

The delivery of this project needs to be respectful of the flora, fauna and visitors of the site.

Brief scope of works

The construction of a new event stage and associated amenity includes, but not limited to:

• Site setup including facilities, fencing, temporary power and water supply.

• Site preparation including general clearing and grubbing, tree protection and removal, utility location and relocation if required.

• Ground levelling to the specified levels.

• Construction of outdoor stage & associated amenity including foundation, floor beams, slabs, wall, roof, etc.

• Fit-out and finishing of the outdoor stage & associated amenity including windows, doors, joinery, sanitary facilities, signage, lining, paint, etc.

• Construction of hydraulic services including stormwater drainage, sewerage (including pump station) and water supply.

• Installation, testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical services including power, lighting, security system (access/camera/sensors) and communication line, ventilation, etc.

• Installation of power outlets, conduit, ducting, floor box and pits for stage engineering system including lighting, load lifting points / power-operated hoist, audio and video system. 

• Construction of green roof including proprietary green roof system, planting, irrigation, drainage system, angular ballast, etc. by specialist subcontractor to be nominated by the Contractor.

• Installation, testing and commissioning of proprietary height safety system on the roof by specialist subcontractor to be nominated by the Contractor.

• Supply and installation of flag poles.

• Construction of walkway and access path immediately surrounding the proposed amenity.

• Associated connections to existing services including water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, electricity and broadband services.

• Decommissioning of disused services & cabinets including the existing electrical cabinet shown on the electrical drawing.

• Reinstatement of the adjacent area damaged or affected by the construction activities and site establishment
