The Council intends to redevelop the Lawson Town Centre to allow the upgrading of the Great Western Highway to four lanes to proceed in 2009.
The appointed Consultant will be required to provide a submission, including fee proposal, for landscape architectural services involved with the open space and urban design for the Lawson Town Centre.
As a result of the highway widening through the Lawson Town Centre, the town centre is being revitalised. New streets, footpaths, shops and open spaces are planned. The design of the civil framework for this transformation is 75 % complete and an early draft of the landscape master plan has been developed in-house. Council is now seeking the services of a Landscape Architecture Consultancy to work within the civil framework to create a new town centre which reflects the history of the site and has a simple, legible and unique character while being maintainable, sustainable and affordable.
