WSROC / EOI for the development opportunities in the new integrated sport, health and education precinct, Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub Stage 2 - EOI C26/2022

The Expression of interest (EOI) is for developable areas within the Blacktown International Sportspark (BISP).

BISP is located on Eastern Rd, Rooty Hill in close proximity to the Rooty Hill train station, 10 min from the Blacktown CBD and 40 min from the Sydney CBD.  It covers 60 hectares of land and is one of Australia’s most active sports precincts.  Since the development of the site for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, the sports park has continued to thrive boasting facilities for sports including athletics, Australian rules football, cricket and soccer.

The most recent addition to the sports park is the Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology (BEST) Hub and Lodge accommodation, scheduled to open in early 2023. 

The BEST hub will deliver health, training and research facilities in one, purpose built and state of the art facility all in collaboration with our stakeholders:

3. Sydney West Sports Medicine
4. WentWest

Facilities within BEST include:

1. Synthetic and turf rectangular pitches
2. Laboratory spaces
3. 60 m analysis track
4. Environmental chamber
5. Medical clinics
6. Strength and Conditioning
7. Aquatic recovery centre
8. Auditorium
9. Meeting rooms

The Lodge will deliver academy style accommodation including 100 beds over 37 rooms.

BEST represents stage one of a masterplan developed for the sports park which aims to deliver major economic, employment and social benefits for the people of Blacktown.  This EOI seeks responses to develop stage two of the masterplan highlighting three developable areas within the precinct for uses that compliment the existing stakeholder and facility mix within BEST.  These may include but not be limited to, health services, research and development, sport and recreation, education and aged care services.
