Tender Details

This is a Invited Tender. Tenders ONLY from the invited firms listed below will be accepted

Supply of Radiant Heat Shield sets for fitting to NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) fire tankers by contracted body fabricators.

This RFT is the second stage of a two stage tender process following on from the earlier EOI stage which was use for tender pre-qualification for this stage two.

It is the intention of the RFS that the Radiant Heat Shields will be fitted in all new Category 1, Category 6, Category 7 and Category 11 Tanker Vehicles, estimated to be 170 vehicles per year. Some current tanker vehicles may also be retrofitted. The sets of radiant heat shields shall be fabricated to suit the specific vehicle cabs used by the RFS for the construction of fire tankers.

The contractor shall be responsible to ensure the correct fit of the shields to the nominated vehicle. This would generally require the production of a master pattern to suit each different vehicle cab.

As part of the requirement the contractor will be required to provide technical advice to the RFS on the performance of the shields, size of the shields to suit nominated vehicles and method of attachment.

It is expected that the tendered radiant heat shield material will be a current production item. As such, results of tests nominated in the Statement of Requirements are required to be submitted as part of the tender.
