Tender Details
The Energy and Mineral Branch of the New South Wales Department of Industry & Investment
(“DII-EM”) is seeking Applications for a prequalification scheme for future work involved with the investigation and on-site rehabilitation/remediation of derelict mines in various regions throughout NSW.
This is an extension of a similar prequalification scheme established by the former DPI in 2006.
By entering into a prequalification scheme, successful Applicants may be given the opportunity to quote or tender for mine rehabilitation contract works or environmental consultancy work in a number of different work categories when the work arises through DII-EM’s Derelict Mines Program.
Derelict mine sites in NSW are defined as abandoned sites of past mining activity for which no individual, company or organisation can be held responsible for their management or remediation. Although DII-EM has no statutory or legislative responsibility for the remediation of derelict sites, it is responsible for the Derelict Mines Program.
