Tender Details
Forests New South Wales (FNSW) have been developing forestry applications with Airborne Laser Scanners (ALS) and Digital Multispectral Aerial Photography (DMAP) since 2001. Based on this experience, FNSW are now in a position to undertake large scale ALS/DMAP based forest inventories.
In 2008, Western Region (based in Dubbo) tendered for the supply of ALS and DMAP data across 240,000 ha. Results from the previous mission were very successful and Western Region is now seeking to expand on the earlier study by incorporating an additional 128,526 ha of native forest scattered throughout the region. These sites include White Cypress forests and dry hardwood woodland. FNSW requires accurate Vegetation Elevation Models (VEMs) and Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) for harvest planning, and digital multispectral mosaics for vegetation classification. Data capture dates to occur sometime between 16th March and 10th June 2009.
