Design and Construct of a Sodium Hypochlorite Dosing System at Morton Ave Low Level Reservoir, Yass - 0900950

Water supplying to Morton Ave Low Level Reservoir is fed from Yass Water Treatment Plant through a 300 mm diameter common inlet/outlet main. 

There is no chlorine residual left in the water stored in the reservoir.  Yass Valley Council plans to supplement chlorine residual in the reticulation system. 

Under this Contract, the Contractor shall include the design, manufacture, supply, deliver, install, test, demonstrate and commission of a sodium hypochlorite (hypo) dosing plant at Morton Low Level Reservoir.  The dosing plant shall be used to increase the chlorine residuals in the water stored in the reservoir.

The sodium hypochlorite dosing plant shall consist of:

(1)             One (1) 300 L sodium hypochlorite solution storage tank.

(2)             Two (2) metering pumps (duty/standby).

(3)             All associated pipework, valves and fittings.

(4)             All necessary automatic controls.

(5)             One (1) electrically operated hand pump.

(6)             One (1) safety shower.

(7)             All necessary safety signs and personal safety equipment.

(8)             One (1) pre-fabricated concrete building for housing the hypo dosing system.

(9)             One (1) chemical hand trolley, suitable for carrying at least one 15 L plastic containers.
