ransport for NSW (‘TfNSW’) seeks Proposals to supply and support Rural and Regional Bus Contactless Reader Device
As part of the Rural & Regional (‘R&R’) Ticketing Program, TfNSW is seeking proposals from prospective proponents for the supply, installation, commissioning, and ongoing hardware and software support and compliance of Transit Payment Devices.
The Solution delivered will include, as appropriate, software, hardware, installation services, configuration, maintenance, support, training and services to implement the solution (the ‘Solution’).
The desired vehicle Transit Payment Device and telematics component of the Solution shall be installed on TfNSW Rural and Regional Bus Service Contract (‘RRBSC’) vehicles to allow customers to pay their bus fare with a contactless payment card (‘CPC’); offering a similar experience for customers in the Greater Sydney area using the existing Opal network. The Solution will accept EMV payment card taps on those vehicles on those vehicles, and transmit this information to the Back Office (which is part of a separate tender) via cellular and/or other suitable wireless communication technologies. The desired Transit Payment Device component of the Solution shall be innovative in nature in order to support a varied and diverse RRBSC vehicle fleet consisting of several different types, sizes and vehicle manufacturers.
