Tender Details
The Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) Branch within the NSW Department of Planning and Environment is seeking proposals from Registered Training Organisations to deliver the BOS and Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) Training Programs for accredited assessors and local government. The successful Service Provider will deliver the Training Program for a three-year period, with the possibility of two 12-month extensions, but no more than five years in total.
The BOS is the NSW Government’s framework for offsetting unavoidable impacts on biodiversity from development with biodiversity gains through landholder stewardship agreements. When the BOS applies to a proposal, the proponent must engage an accredited assessor to apply the BAM to assess the impacts of the proposal on biodiversity.
The Training Program delivers the training that applicants must successfully complete to be eligible for accreditation to apply the BAM under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. The Training Program also delivers educational training for local government that is designed to support the role of local government in implementation of the BOS.
