Tender Details
Forests NSW has tendered for the purchase and processing of up to 50,000 tonnes per annum of hardwood plantation Roundwood through a Wood Supply Agreement for a minimum of four (4) years plus up to 50,000 tonnes (subject to resource availability advised by Forests NSW) for a further one (1) year. Roundwood is defined as product quality less than sawlog quality. All Roundwood offered will be sold as green metric tonnes (gmt), in round wood, and cut to length. The plantation roundwood will come from younger plantations (established post 1994) located in the Northern Supply Zone, generally north of Grafton.
Forests NSW now propose to tender for Harvest contracts (two parcels of up to 25,000 tonnes per annum) and Haulage contracts (two parcels of up to 25,000 tonnes per annum) for a minimum of four(4) years commencing in July 2009 for the supply of this roundwood resource . Delivered sales represent a key component of a strategy to develop market opportunities and increase forest value recovery through the management of the stump to mill harvest and delivery process.
The competitive tender process has been selected as the most appropriate mechanism to establish commercial arrangements for contracting services in a fair and transparent manner.
