Vertical Aerial Photography Coverage - NSW North Coast - DECC-564-2009

The Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water NSW (DECCW) has responsibility for overseeing the management of the NSW coastline.  

Vertical aerial photography coverage of the NSW coast provides the primary data source for photogrammetric monitoring of coastal dynamics. The information is used to monitor and improve understanding of the impacts of coastal hazards, climate change and sea level rise and underpins the delivery of the coastal and estuary management programs.

The primary objective of the project is to provide vertical aerial photography coverage of the NSW north coast from Black Head near Forster to Tweed Heads capable for interpreting the existing surface condition by photogrammetry.

Aerial Photography

The project involves:

1. approx. 52 runs of aerial photography to cover the coastal strip from Blackhead to Tweed Heads at a photo scale of 1:10000 NSW as per the flight diagrams.
2. the supply and delivery of 1 set of colour proof contact prints with title strips to show: area name; film no.; date; run no.; focal length; scale and flying height.
3. the reflying of any rejected photography as soon as possible.
4. the use of a forward motion compensating camera.
5. the photography to be flown within the optimal tidal window (ie: as near as possible to low tide between the hours of 10am and 2pm)

 

Digital imagery and diapositives

The quotation should provide separate costing for:

1. the scanning of aerial imagery from film using a photogrammetric scanner.
2. the production of diapositives.

The photography is to be flown within the optimal tidal window (ie: as near as possible to low tide between the hours of 10am and 2pm).

The duration of the project will be highly dependent on a number of factors including weather conditions, sun angle, low tide and available resources. It is expected that every effort be made to capture the photography at the earliest opportunity when the above conditions are met, subject to weather conditions and Air Traffic Control approvals.
