"P22-4214 - Captains Flat - Hydro Mulching and Chemical Dust Suppressant
The tenderer is to provide and apply a range of bonded fibrous spray mulch and polymer soil binder services to assist with rehabilitation and chemical dust suppression during the project.
The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) will be undertaking contaminated soils remediation. Due to the strict adherence to project Soil and Water Management Plan effective ground covers (minimum 70%) must be established on completion of work zones. Approximately 30 work zones each 2000m2 will require progressive treatment over 24 months (between 2000m2 and 4000m2 per month)
In addition to ground cover for vegetation establishment soil binders and tackifiers will be required for soil stabilization and dust suppression. This will include stabilisation of stockpiles, roads, excavation sites and work zones prior to forecast rain events and always prevent dust moblising.
It must be noted some areas of the site will require higher level of PPE, potential health monitoring for staff may be required. Additional health monitoring will be undertaken by the SCS Occupational Hygienist due to heavy metal contamination. Reduced need for worker on foot will be an advantage.
