NSW Department of Primary Industries purchased large quantities of chemical for the 2004/05 plague locust control program. The chemical was purchased to ensure sufficient stocks for effective control in the largest locust campaign in NSW history.
After the 2004-05 plague locust program, remaining locust chemical was stored in a central chemical store ready for future locust control programs. The chemical has recently been tested and determined to be unviable and so requires disposal.
