Tender Details

Forests NSW seeks tenders only from those tenderers who tendered for this work in January 2008 (restricted tender) who are experienced Contractors to participate in the continuing mechanical non-commercial thinning (NCT) program of cypress regeneration to compliment routine manual thinnings. The mechanical NCT operation is to utilise a chopper roller implement towed by a tractor (wheeled or tracked) to chopper roll approximately 30 - 40% of the nominated gross operational area. All of this work will be carried out by contractors, under Forests NSW supervision over the next two years.

Native Forests Operations Branch Western Region of Forests NSW expects to treat approximately 5,700 - 6,000ha gross of white cypress pine/western hardwood forest land in Baradine, Dubbo, and Forbes Forestry Centres through mechanical NCT, for the period October 2008 to June 2010 (F2009 & F2010). Projected work in F2010 is subject to satisfactory performance in F2009.

The contract work required in F2009 and F2010 will be offered on an amalgamated Western Region basis, with an option to tender for nominated works either north, and south of Dubbo respectively. It is expected that these works for F2009 and F2010 will be completed by no later than the 30th June of each financial year respectively. Tenderers are expected to appraise themselves of the variation in proposed forest operational areas with view to selecting tractor size and type appropriate to the conditions. Tenders will also be evaluated and ranked in a single process, to allow cost-effective allocation of the available contract resources.
