Tender Details
The Authority commenced operating The Rocks Pub Tour in 2003. The primary purpose of developing the tour was to increase visitation to The Rocks in the evenings while providing a new revenue stream for food and beverage establishments in the precinct. The opportunity to interpret the heritage listed pubs and their history was also identified.
The current format of the tour run by the Authority features entertaining commentary by a qualified guide, a visit to three pubs in The Rocks (and a drink at each). Participants also receive a discount dining card should they wish to extend their experience in The Rocks by dining at one of the participating pubs at the conclusion of the tour.
The tour currently operates 7 days a week (except public holidays, New Year's Eve and St Patrick's Day) from 5.00pm 6.45pm and takes approximately 1hr 45 mins.
The Authority is seeking an Applicant to purchase the intellectual property associated with The Rocks Pub Tour, and then operate the tour as a private concern. The intellectual property consists of:

The successful Applicant will be responsible for the negotiation of pricing and visitation arrangements with the pubs. As at 22 April 2008 all publicans involved in the tour expressed interest in working with an external provider for the continued operation of The Rocks Pub Tour.
All existing agreements with regards to commissions, discounts and bookings are not transferable to the successful Applicant, and it will be for the successful Applicant to negotiate their own agreements with other parties such as Sydney Visitors Centre, Inbound Tour Operators, Last Minute.com etc.
