Sydney Water is seeking tenders to build a new offline stormwater treatment wetland at the confluence of Cup & Saucer Creek and Cooks River at Canterbury.
The contract is for the to deisgn and construction of an offline stormwater treatment wetland and assoicated infrastructure at Cup & Saucer Creek. This new wetland will treat low-flows from the creek to imrpove water quality and provide natural habitat, as well as showcasing best practice in water sensitive urban design to the community. The wetland will be landscaped with local plants to encourage the local ecosystem. This contract included landscaping and planting of the wetlands area and a 12-month maintenacne period prior to handover to Canterbury City Council, the wetland's owner.
Sydney Water is delivering the project in conjunction wthe the Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authroity (SMCMA) and Canterbury City Council. The SMCMA is providing a Federal Government grant to assist with delivery of these works, which requires completion of wetland construction by 30 June 2010.
Tenders must meet mandatory requirements as specified in tender document; which include:
- Previous experience in deisgn and construction of wetland or waterways restoration.
- An OHS Management System accredited against the NSW Government's OHS Managment System Guidelines CACC 4th edition.
- Quality Managment System that meets the requirement of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 and which has been used in at least one similar project.
