The objective of this EOI is a market scan to inform NSWPF of industry capabilities in the area of Evidentiary Breathalyzer Analysis (EBA) devices.
Currently, NSWPF has up to 260 EBA devices in use across NSW at any one time for the purpose of conducting breath alcohol analysis as part of day to day duties. The current instrument model has been the preferred device in use by NSWPF for a number of years with a large number of officers trained in the use of the existing devices. NSWPF has several support teams and personnel dedicated to the repairs, maintenance and calibration of the EBA devices.
Recently, the devices have ended production and are no longer available for purchase or support & maintenance. NSWPF still has adequate supplies of machines and spare parts for the existing fleet to remain operational for a number of years. However, NSWPF is now looking to understand the market capabilities to provide EBA device with associated support, maintenance and applications (if applicable) in the long term.
