Sydney Water is undertaking an industry briefing session to support the development of the Richmond / North Richmond Amplification Project and Compliance Upgrades at Castle Hill and Rouse Hill - North West Treatment Hub. 

This industry briefing session will allow Sydney Water to share more details about the two projects, their respective procurement approaches and provide information to inform the establishment of delivery teams.

Richmond / North Richmond Amplification Project:

The North Richmond Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Richmond Water Recycling Plant (WRP) are currently servicing two independent systems separated by the Hawkesbury River. Both plants and their systems will have capacity limitations in the near future as the population growth in the Richmond and Upper Hawkesbury area is projected to increase by 70% over the next 30 years.

Compliance Upgrades at Castle Hill and Rouse Hill - North West Treatment Hub:

The water recycling plants at Castle Hill and Rouse Hill along with Riverstone Wastewater Treatment Plant make up the North West Treatment Hub. This stage of the work within the North West Treatment Hub involves critical performance upgrades at Castle Hill and Rouse Hill. This will ensure compliance with the NSW Environmental Protection Agency’s framework for regulating nutrient discharges from treatment plants discharging to the lower Hawkesbury-Nepean River and current licence obligations.

This industry briefing session will be an online project presentation to registered participants on the 6th of September.
