NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has an ongoing program of maintenance and upgrading of fire trails. The central purpose of the NPWS Fire Trail Network Program is to ensure the fire trails and associated infrastructure that NPWS is responsible for meet the new NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) compliance standards and satisfy safety, operational, economic and environmental risks associated with the ongoing management of fire trail assets.
