Tender Details

Transport for NSW(“TfNSW”) is looking to implement a comprehensive platform aiding the maritime division in optimal compliance management on NSW waterways, managing incidents/accidents, effective communication, case and legal management, ensuring rapid service restoration, downtime reduction, and performance insights for Maritime.

This platform should

a) allow the agency to design and deliver boating safety programs in NSW and assist Maritime field staff to perform compliance monitoring including referring to existing data, issuing notices, and maintaining the state’s boating laws.

b) allow NSW Maritime to minimize the impact of incidents, allow effective communication between various parties to reduce impact and restore services.

c) allow in management of accidents, investigations, allows documentation and prosecution support.

Maritime is part of Transport for NSW (“TfNSW”) responsible for the regulation and safety of maritime activities in NSW, including overseeing navigation, vessel registration, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

This expression of interest aims to assess the market for potential solutions catering to three key capabilities within the Maritime division:

• Compliance and Regulations Management

• Incident and Case Management

• Accident and Investigation Management

Compliance and Regulations Management process is designed to assist Boating Officers in operational efficiency and compliance, aiding in gathering information from diverse systems and conducting compliance checks, educational activities, and issuing notices promptly.

Incident & Case Management System is complying with Transport Governance and Assurance mandatory requirements. The Case Management captures marine incidents on NSW waterways, facilitating effective notification and response to pollution incidents and maritime emergencies.

Accidents and Investigation Management plays a crucial role in enforcing safety regulations for recreational boating by effectively managing accidents. The system will manage documentation and information for prosecuting incidents, accidents, and fraud on NSW waterways, guiding strategy and operational delivery.

Moreover, All three functions contributes to Maritime strategy formulation and state-wide operational planning through insightful analysis of incident data, guiding customer-centric infrastructure investments.

There exists an opportunity to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through technology by improving integration and exploring alternative approaches to deliver more cohesive and seamless support for all three processes.
