In accordance with the NSW Government’s housing strategy for the next 20 years (Housing 2041: NSW Housing Strategy and Housing 2041: 2021-22 Action Plan), Property & Development NSW (PDNSW), on behalf of Transport for NSW (the Lessor), is seeking registrations of Interest from registered Tier 1 Community Housing Providers (CHP) operating in the Blue Mountains area and/or Western Sydney area to develop, operate and manage a tiny homes village.
The tiny homes village will enable the rapid rehousing of people in the Blue Mountains area who are transitioning from homelessness (or crisis accommodation) to longer term independent living, for a period of up to 18 months.
The CHP will demonstrate suitable experience and financial capacity along with a commitment to the priorities of the NSW Housing 2041 Strategy and Action Plan, and enter into a lease of the property, with the Lessor, for nominal consideration for a term up to 31 August 2028.
The CHP and tiny homes village constructed at the Property will provide access to appropriate accommodation and support services for the tenants (including access to specialist homelessness services and development of functional skillsets), contributing to a greater sense of wellbeing and having an overall positive social outcome for the community.
