Over the period November 2009 to February 2010 the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water (DECCW), through the Agency – Parks and Wildlife Group (PWG), will be undertaking Rehabilitation Works on the Former Snowy Scheme Site (FSSS) F2.03 – Bourkes Gorge Spoil Dump Number 2. The Works Package includes bulk earthworks to stabilise the site and construction of an armoured open channel to carry a natural creekline through the site.
As the Works are located in a remote location and highly sensitive environmental area Works Supervision is a critical component to the successful completion of the Works Contract. This Tender addresses this requirement – the Supervision of the Works Contract DECC-573-2009.
Responsibilities Include:
o Supervise Works Contractor’s mobilisation onto site including construction camp set up and access Works (installation of culvert, tree / vegetation clearing, levelling of site camp area, etc).
o Supervise site set out
o Act as the Principal’s Superintendent on site and as such, manage the Contract Conditions for the Works Contract (DECC-573-2009)
o Daily monitoring of works including the maintenance of a site diary and photographs of daily activities
o Undertake OH&S monitoring and audits (daily)
o Undertake Environmental monitoring and auditing (daily)
o Maintain the central Works Program in conjunction with the Contractor. Monitor works progress against program and update program as required.
o Host weekly project meetings with attendees being Principal’s representative, Works Contractor,
o Monitor traffic across Bogong Creek Bridge to ensure that it complies with the Engineers load rating. Also ensure than no traffic uses the Bogong Creek bypass road.
o Monitor and Verify the Works Contractor’s quantities as per the Schedule of rates for the Works Contract DECC-573-2009.
o Advise the Principal of any accidents / incidents within one hour of occurrence (details to be confirmed upon engagement)
o Act as the Principal’s Representative in the event of an emergency (and absence of Principal’s Staff)
o Monitor site visitors
o Submit (to the Principal) weekly progress reports

Note that the pre-tender meeting for the Works Contract DECC-573-2009 is to be held at 11am, 12 October 2009, meeting at the NPWS office Khancoban NSW. Companies interested in tendering for the Supervision Role are invited to attend the meeting; however, attending this pre-tender meeting is not mandatory for the Supervision Contract.
